Process

As daunting as a new remodeling project may seem, having an understanding of what will happen next can be very reassuring. We have broken down the construction process into small steps that collectively will simplify the entire project.

1) CLIENT QUESTIONNAIRE

After receiving the initial phone call requesting an appointment, we typically send out our Client Questionnaire. Having a potential client fill out this form prior to our first meeting often helps clarify objectives as well as helps us understand your project better. Not all questions need to be answered, but the more information we have the better we will be able to assess your needs and suggest a course of action when we meet in person.

2) INITIAL MEETING – OBJECTIVE: PRELIMINARY SCOPE OF WORK

Depending upon the size of your project, we will determine together if design work and permitting will be part of the Scope of Work. We have design options available for all types of projects. In addition, examination of the major existing building systems will determine if system upgrades are necessary. Questions about building costs may be discussed at this point to determine preliminary budget numbers for the project.

3) VERIFY SCOPE OF WORK

Within a few days we will have a preliminary Scope of Work for your review, allowing for the inclusion of any additional items that may have been bypassed at our initial meeting.

4) PRELIMINARY PROPOSAL

Upon finalizing an agreed upon Scope of Work, we will put together a detailed proposal with each phase of the project defined, including realistic allowances, a preliminary project cost and a timeline.

5) CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT

After the preliminary proposal has your approval, we will draft a contractual agreement specific to your project and submit it along with a construction timeline, pre-construction checklist and payment schedules.

6) COMMENCEMENT OF WORK

With good reason, this exciting part of the process is often the most stressful for clients. We are at our best in this phase, making daily progress with a well-maintained workspace, and keeping clients informed with weekly schedule updates for the week ahead.
